About The House

The House History:The Junction House was built in 1980 by Englishman Howard Marshall, the local Blacksmith. He and his wife Alice hosted some of the town’s most festive parties. The wrought iron fence surrounding the house was crafted by Howard and still stands strong over a century later. In 1926, Alice sold the house to Dr. Richards. The owners after the doctor were the Tarrant’s who operated a Barber Shop from the rear of the house.. One Hundred and Twenty years later this Home welcomes its newest owners Robert and Deborah Quinonez who have renovated it into your community coffee house!

About The Owners

In 2009 Cameron and Melita Quinonez of Sturgis South Dakota presented the idea of owning and running a family coffee house in Sturgis, to Camerons parents who lived in Littleton Colorado. They loved the idea and in 2010 Robert and Deborah Quinonez packed up everything they owned, sold their home and moved to Sturgis. With all kinds of dedication and hard work the Quinonez family is excited to announce the opening of The Broken Bean in the Fall of 2010.   Robert and Deborah are new residents of Sturgis. They leave three other children in Colorado, their home of thirty some years and their jobs to pursue this adventure. Robert is a Retired High School Spanish teacher.  Deborah is a certified accountant. She will be handling a majority of the business and will be the manager.  Please come and meet the Quinonez family members in the Fall of 2010. They look  forward to meeting you!
